The global high purity gases market stood at USD 26.9 billion in 2019, and is likely to be valued at USD 40.2 billion by 2027, at a CAGR of 5.2% over the next eight years. The growth can be primarily attributed to the rising demand for high purity gases across a wide range of applications such as electronics, chemicals, automotive, metal production, and medical, among others. Moreover, increasing use of high purity gases in the production of photovoltaic panels is likely to further accelerate the market demand. However, high processing cost of these gases along with various adverse government regulations may deter the market growth.

High purity gases may be either manufactured through air separation or hydrogen reforming. The minimum level of purity of a gas is defined by the specific impurities that characterize the pure gas. High purity gases may be produced and supplied in both gaseous as well as liquid form. These gases are transported to customers in cylinders, as bulk liquid, or as pipeline gases. During the transportation of high purity gases, every filled cylinder must accompany a certificate of analysis that confirms that maximum limits for impurity are not exceeded.

High purity gases are used across a wide range of applications, for instance carbon dioxide is used as refrigerant gas, and argon is used in the production of silicon wafers for the electronics industry. However, moisture is a common and detrimental contaminant in several high purity gases. The permitted content of moisture may vary based on type of gas and certified purity. Thus, it is necessary to establish a regular check for measuring the moisture content to ensure that drying and purification processes are effective.

The report provides detailed market outlook, and forecast the “Global High Purity Gases” market based on manufacturing process, type, function, application and region.
